The 2006 World Scramble Championship finished in style with a Smashing Finals Event.
Teams from all over North America from Massachusetts to New Jersey to Florida to Indiana to Nevada to California descended upon Los Angeles all looking for a shot at the title, the cash, bragging rights and their place in history. All were treated to an outstanding venue at Lost Canyons, an amazing championship golf event, an array of gifts and prizes, perfect Southern California weather and a five-star party right out of a major Hollywood production.

REIGNING WORLD CHAMPIONS

(Tom Quinn, Chris Girsch, Tom Komarnicki, Matt Felber, Randy Brown)
Feather Sound Country Club, Tampa Bay, Florida

History was made with the crowning of the inaugural World Champions from Feather Sound Country Club in Tampa, Florida. The 2nd place team was from Aubrey's Dubs Dread in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Team Pittsburgh caught Team Tampa on the front nine of the final round to set up a fantastic finish. Tampa held off the charge however with some outstanding shot making and putting down the stretch. Tom "Polar Bear" Komarnicki made two 75 foot Eagle putts to help clinch the victory.

HONORARY 1ST TEE OFF

"NEXT UP ON THE TEE BOX.............."

The 'Wire to Wire' performance by the 5-some from Feather Sound Country Club was impressive as it included 2 pressure packed Honorary 1st Tee-Offs in front of the World Scramble Gallery. Their playing competitors had nothing but praise for the winners, "They were great guys, their handicaps were legitimate and they hit great shots when they needed them most. We can't wait for another shot at them next year". The Champions will also receive a Lifetime Exemption into future Finals Events.

"Club Pro Quote" --   "Any time you attend a first year event, there is always apprehension that comes with it........ I say this because it makes the experience that was "The World Scramble" even more amazing.  At every turn, this event was handled with unparalleled class and professionalism. The golf was first rate, the prizes were first rate, the partying was first rate, but even greater than all that were the wonderful people brought together for a great cause. With great anticipation, I look forward to participating in and promoting this event for a long time to come."

"Player Quote" --    “The quality and venue of the events offered by the World Scramble Finals far surpassed that of the other national amateur events.  The allure of the LA setting and Hollywood party atmosphere was something that most of us would otherwise never get the chance to experience. Thanks again to InVicta, Oakley, Bodog and all the other sponsors for putting together such a memorable event …we are already looking forward to next year”.

Randy Brown - Tampa, Florida

With two 5-somes playing together, the
integrity of the handicaps and scoring was assured.  Many new
friendships and rivalries were also formed.
